The
first Winter Solstice Sadhana celebration was held in
Southern Florida in 1971, and families from all over
the continent caravanneds to the event. Eventually, over
200 men and women began attending this seven-day event.
To maintain the highest vibrations, the participants
observed silence for the whole week. The only words to
be spoken were in music, singing, and chanting the praise
of the One Creator. The days were filled with Kundalini
Yoga classes and other yogic workshops. Classes always
included a few rounds of dancing, singing, or some good
yogi/yogini sports. White Tantric Yoga was done on all
seven days. One of the greatest highlights was the evening
music, song and dance. Though time has made a few adjustments,
these early days created the foundation for our Winter
Solstice Sadhana event in Florida.
