Message from the 3HO Chief Executive Officer

We have entered into the final days of 2009. This year has brought about many significant cycles of global change. Some of these changes have come with great challenges and include some things no one thought possible. We are witnessing that nothing is the same as it was even as recently as the beginning of this year. We have entered into a very different time; the Aquarian Age.

Within the nature of great transformation, a new way of existence manifests. “Life will always reorganize itself, renew itself, and find pathways of survival more suitable for the next generation.”1 Earlier this year, I shared with you some of the planned changes for 3HO in 2009 that support and connect the 3HO Global Community. And now, I would like to share with you what has been accomplished and all the great things that are new and available to you now or early 2010:

A Global Community of Living Yoga. A new dynamic website and online community to connect the 3HO Global Community and serve as a global resource for all your 3HO and Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yoga Bhajan® related interests. You will get to experience this new website in early 2010.

Advertising Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yoga Bhajan® in Yoga Journal. Teachers - you asked and we heard you! Thanks to the contributions of many Gurudakshina donors, you will see a monthly ad in Yoga Journal starting early 2010.

Yoga Center Partnership Program. A global network for yoga centers that offer Kundalini Yoga classes to connect with each other and receive valuable resources and services from 3HO Foundation and each other. If you are a Yoga Center – join the program today or find out more. Your enrollment includes your IKYTA Professional Membership status and benefits.

Use of the 3HO logo. Let’s let the world know that we are here! 3HO can be found in 173 of the 194 countries. Together we can create a spiritual community that is recognized around the world. The logo is available for use by teachers, organizations, and businesses to let people know that you are connected with a Global Community. Contact Guruka Kaur to get started.

United Nations. 3HO has long been a Non Governmental Organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. We are now researching and developing opportunities for the 3HO Global Community to connect to and participate in the work of the United Nations. We will be releasing the list of opportunities in February 2010. Contact Guruka Kaur for more information or to get started now.

IKYTA Membership for Teachers in Training. A new IKYTA membership category for Teachers in Level 1 Teacher Training. The irony of this day and age, known to some as the age of communication, is that it has never been easier to communicate with people from all over the globe in record time, yet many of us feel even more disconnected from fellow human beings than ever. The rapidity and bulk of information erodes its quality and human color, and can often lead to people feeling overloaded, as the song above suggests. If this rings true to you, then perhaps seva is the answer you have been looking for. The word seva comes from Sanskrit and literally means “string.” It implies the inherent interconnectedness between human beings. It is through service that this connection is re-established. Gather with your Global Community on the day of Solstice (Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer Solstice for the Southern Hemisphere). Offer a class or gather in community on Winter Solstice, December 21, 2009, and join your Global Community in working with the Water Tattwa by practicing the Narayan Kriya and the Kriya for Pelvic Balance (Page 1, Page 2). In this way we can connect through the subtle space as One and shine our inner light during the darkest time of year.
